Last night I was very excited to see Charlotte Sometimes on The Voice! Charlotte Sometimes (Jessica Poland) went to high school with me in Wall, NJ and I watched her sing at the HS coffeehouses so it is really cool seeing her on TV! Of course she is the second Wall singer to make a reality show this year – the first being Cari Fletcher who was on X Factor and put in the group Lakoda Rayne.

Birthday Smiles

25 was pretty good to me. I met Patrick, traveled the country speaking about blogging, went to Italy, and received a major promotion to the Executive Team of my company.

After spending a small birthday dinner with mine and Patrick’s family, I have a feeling that 26 is going to be just as great. I recently was asked to speak about blogging in Denver next month and I return to Vegas in May to present another workshop with PCG. Patrick and I are looking to buy a home and I’ll be finishing up my Holistic Health certificate at GCU.

I’m looking forward to the next year and spending it with family and friends. This “things-are-too-good-to-be-true” feeling isn’t too bad of a feeling to have. Oh, and having leftover ice cream cake helps too.

Animal Healing

Out of all the therapies and holistic remedies I have learned through my GCU program, the one that I believe in the most is animal healing. And that is because I’ve seen it first hand.

My sister suffers from Crohn’s disease. You wouldn’t know it looking at her but she is often in a lot of pain and eating is very difficult for us. Food, the thing that usually bridges us together, provides us comfort, and often defines who we are, is what actually pains her.

But she is making strides every day and looking at how she’s moved forward I can’t help but to connect it with the adoption of Bradley.

Today she had another big test and when she got home Bradley was there, doing what he does best.

The beautiful thing about animal healing is that they give so effortlessly and without judgement or hesitation. And there is no love more beautiful or valuable than that.

Gotta Love Siri

If you’re unfamiliar with Siri, it is the voice recognition software that comes on the iPhone 4S. Me and Siri are not good friends. She doesn’t understand my Jersey accent and I don’t enjoy yelling into my phone and speaking like a robot in public.

This morning I texted Patrick telling him that I took out the garbage and cleaned Thumper (our rabbit’s) litter box.

Siri thought it would be fun to translate my message like this:

It’s the nose. People don’t know how to compare my nose to anything that is normal, so they usually reach for Katharine McPhee or Rachael Ray.

Honestly, the gray hairs that have been sticking out on top of my head have been distracting me from the nose situation.
